Latest update reveals that Daniel Craig has confirmed that he will reprise his role as James Bond in an upcoming “Bond” movie. According to reports, the actor recently confirmed that he will be returning to his James Bond role. It is reported that Craig told “Late Show” host, Stephen Colbert that he will be reprising the role of James Bond for his fifth film in “Bond 25.”
The new update that was revealed Tuesday night came as a surprise to many. However, it is an amazing update for James Bond fans who have been hoping that the actor will reprise his role in the upcoming movie. Although there have been lots rumors and speculations about the return of Craig, nothing was confirmed until now.
It is reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Craig has now officially confirmed that he will reprise the role of Agent 007 in Bond 25. He replied in the affirmative when asked if he will reprise his role in the upcoming movie. Craig stated that he has known for a couple of months now that he will return to the franchise as the James Bond actor.
He added that “We have been discussing it, we have just been trying to figure things out…… I always wanted to, I needed a break.” Meanwhile, the James Bond actor also confirmed during the show that this will be last time he will play the role of the spy in the franchise. “I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait,” he said, according to a report by IGN.
Daniel Craig has been portraying the role of Agent 007 since “Casino Royale” that was released in 2006. The actor has featured in other James Bond movies including “Quantum of Solace” released in 2008, “Skyfall” in 2012 and “Spectre” in 2015. There were controversies over the return of the actor in 2015 after he made headlines for making negative remarks about the possibility of reprising the role in the future.
However, he told Colbert during the recent interview that “There’s no point making excuses about it, but it was two days after I had finished shooting the last movie and I went straight to an interview where someone asked, ‘Would you do another one?’ and I went, ‘No!'” The upcoming “Bond 25” was officially announced last month by EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters November 8, 2019.
